Lawsuit Cash Advances

By Ken Marlborough Lawsuit cash advances, also called pre-settlement cash loans, are non-recourse in nature. Whenever a plaintiff files a lawsuit, the lawsuit financing company investigates the type of lawsuit, studies its strength and chances of success, and provides a cash advance in return for a promise by the plaintiff to pay a share or part of the verdict or monetary settlement. This pre-settlement cash advance is called as non-recourse in nature because this cash advance is not a loan but an advance, which the plaintiff has to repay to the lawsuit financing company only after the final settlement from the court. In case the lawsuit fails, the plaintiff need not pay any amount to the lawsuit financing company. If the final verdict results in an amount less than the advance, the plaintiff need not pay the difference. The plaintiff has to pay only a share of what he receives even if the amount is smaller than the advance he received from the lawsuit financing company. The amount of cash advance available from the lawsuit company will depend on the nature of the lawsuit, the company and the strength and chances of success of the lawsuit. Depending on the above said factors a lawsuit financing company may pay a cash advance of $500 to $25,000. There are incidents when the lawsuit financing company even provides a cash advance of $100,000. Usually the company would be interested to pay a cash advance only when it feels that the claimant can receive a higher verdict than the advance made by the lawsuit financing company. The financing companies can collect the advance they made after the verdict is known. This fee is called the flat fee, while a monthly fee can be charged on the plaintiff until the settlement. Cash advances and pre-settlement advances can be used by plaintiffs to meet their requirements like rent, medical bills, or extending their business. Is Anyone Burning in Hell Today?

By Debra Lohrere There are various lines of thought in relation to Hell. Some believe that neither Heaven or Hell exist and that when we die that it the end of our existance. In Christian circles some teach that Hell is merely a separation from God, others contend that it is a fiery place of eternal torture where sinners instantly go at the moment of death. According to this theology, the lost are sizzling right now, somewhere in the fiery bowels of this earth. Most Christians believe that Hell is an eternal place of suffering. Is this what the Bible really teaches? In the New Testament there are three different Greek words that are translated into Hell in English. They are Tartarus, Gehenna, and Hades. Tartarus is used only once in 2 Peter 2:4 God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell [Tartarus], and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment. Tartarus means dark abyss or place of restraint. Notice also that it says the evil angels are reserved unto judgment, meaning that the day of judgment has not occurred yet, and they are not currently in the red hot fiery underworld. We know that in fact they are busy roaming the earth, actively tempting and attacking the people of God as well as the lost. The second word used for Hell is Gehenna which is derived from Hinnon, a rubbish dump outside of Jerusalem where trash and dead animals were burned. It continually smouldered during Bible times. Jesus used this word when He warned about the danger of Hell Fire at the end of the world Matthew 13:40-42 The harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the weeds are gathered in burned in the fire, so shall it be at the end of this world. The Son of Man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them that do iniquity, and shall cast them into a furnace of fire, and there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear. This word does definitely relate to fire and being burned up or consumed away. In the above verse you will notice that Jesus spoke of the Hell Fire being at the end of the world. Peter further clarified the timing of the Hell Fire to be at the day of judgment, not in the present time 2 Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. The Bible clearly shows that ungodly men will be burned up by Hell Fire after the millenial reign of Christians in Heaven. Noones loved ones are burning in Hell today. Our just and loving God does not sentence anyone to Hell Fire before they have been judged on the day of judgment. The third Greek word translated to Hell is Hades which means the grave. Revelation 20:14-15 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. This verse clarifies that Hades itself is not a fiery place, but will be cast into the lake of fire. This verse is really saying that death and the grave will be consumed by fire and will be no more. There will be no longer be any more death and no more graves. The Ideal Bonsai Tree: The Dwarf Pomegranate

By Tim Gorman People who love bonsai trees will love the dwarf pomegranate tree! The dwarf pomegranate tree has beautiful flowers and fruit. However, the fruit of the dwarf pomegranate tree is quite small when compared to a normal pomegranate. The dwarf pomegranate trees flowers are yellow-orange in color and trumpet shaped; its fruit is a spherical red; and its leaves are dark green marbled with shades of bronze. The trunk of the dwarf pomegranate is naturally twisted. Overall, the dwarf pomegranate is a lush and gorgeous bonsai! The dwarf pomegranate can be easily propagated from the thick branches of a parent plant. The dwarf pomegranate thrives in hot, sunny conditions, but needs to be kept a bit damp at all times. The only exception to this is just before mid-season, when shadier and dryer conditions encourage flowering of the dwarf pomegranate tree. Sunlight is critical to the dwarf pomegranate tree. It is also rather delicate and frost or drying winds will kill this tree. Because the dwarf pomegranate is a Mediterranean tree, it flourishes in warm environments. If you live in an area with a cold climate, a greenhouse is the perfect place to grow the dwarf pomegranate tree. The tree flowers well when planted in a deeper-than-usual pot because a shallow pot will not accommodate the root system. The branches of the dwarf pomegranate tree can be brittle, so care should be taken. On the whole, the dwarf pomegranate is the perfect bonsai tree. It is easily trained to almost all bonsai styles: forest, cascade, literati, tree on rock, windswept, twin trunk, root over rock, twisting trunk, informal upright, etc. A gorgeous bonsai, the dwarf pomegranate is in every aspect a full pomegranate tree, in miniature. For more information on Bonsai styles to include Chokkan, Moyogi, Forest, Korabuki and the Shakan style please visit Beautiful-Bonsai-trees.info where you will find an abundance of Bonasai related resources. Orchid Care

By Clark Covington Any flower or plant will require a good amount of looking after, none more so then the orchid. The orchid is a tender flower that must be carefully looked after for maximum growth potential. The orchid must be planted correctly, with the right feed, the lights must be correct, and temps must also be accurate. After all that you must know when and how to water the orchid. All of this is worth it for the simple beauty an Orchid can provide. Low light is necessary for certain orchids to grown and mature. The orchids that will need low light are called warm weather orchids. Typically they should be put in a place in the house that isnt too sunny. Warm weather orchids are usually the Paphiopedilum or Lady Slipper, Phananelposis, and the Oncidium. These orchids should be behind the curtains, blinds, or even in a corner of the house. The leaves of the orchid should be a bright green color, if the color is different it probably means the orchid is getting either too much, or not enough light. Another set of Orchids need larger amounts of light, these orchids are called high light orchids. The high light orchids are ones that grow best with plenty of sun light, so you most likely want to place them in direct view of the sun in your house. The high light orchids are also healthy when they have the vivid green color leaves, if the color is off it probably means they need more light. The high light orchids are called the Cattleya, Dendrobium, and Vanda. Temperatures must fluctuate for each type of orchid in order for it to stay healthy. Static temperatures, like you would find in an incubator will hurt, and eventually kill orchids. Temperatures should range from 80 degrees during the day, to as low as 55 degrees during the evening hours. In order for the orchid to bloom it needs to store carbohydrate energy during the day, to survive the cold nights. If it is able to do this it will blossom into a robust flower full of color. Make sure to water the orchids early in the day so they are able to dry out by night. Orchids are tender flowers when it comes to watering and must be treated carefully in order to achieve the best results possible. Orchids should be watered as early in the morning as possible to gain the best chance for dry out by evening. The type of water used with orchids is extremely important. Orchids are best fit for rain water, because tap water typically has chemicals in it such as chlorine. Rain water will help the orchids reach its full growth potential each day, without compromising its colors, and natural beauty. Pros and Cons of Taking Medication for Manic Depression

By Matt OConnor Medication is not usually used as a first line of defense against manic depression. Often, the patient has to undergo psychotherapy before the doctor will finally decide if he or she needs to take antidepressants. The reason for this is that the effects of these medications can differ from patient to patient. And these effects can either be beneficial or, sometimes, fatal to patients. Of course, the medications for manic depression are designed to cure the patient suffering from it. However, since it is a mental illness, it cannot be avoided that other patients would react negatively to the drug while others find the drug relatively helpful. Manic depression occurs when there is an imbalance with the neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are chemicals that control the functions of the brain. When there is an imbalance among these neurotransmitters, either mania or depression occurs. From here, let us discuss the pros and cons of manic depression medications: At present, there are 4 groups of antidepressants: 1) SSRIs or Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors
2) MAOIs or Monoamine oxidase inhibitors
3) TCAs or Tricyclic
4) Lithium carbonates SSRIs are antidepressants that fix the serotonin levels of the brain. Popular SSRIs are sertraline (Zoloft), fluvoxamine (Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac) citalopram (Celexa), paroxetine (Paxil), and escitalopram oxalate (Lexapro). There are new SSRIs, the nefazodone (Serzone) and the venlafaxine (Effexor) that work not only to fix the serotonin levels of the brain but also another neurotransmitter, particularly the norepinephrine. Another antidepressant, the bupropion (Wellbutrin), affects dopamine and norepinephrine, more than the serotonin. MAOIs or Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (phenelzine and tranylcypromine) inhibit the MOI (an enzyme works to break down certain neurotransmitters) at the same time reinstate the normal mood of the patient. TCAs or Tricyclic antidepressants relieve depression by maintaining the right amount of neurotransmitters in the central nervous system. Popular tricyclic antidepressants are despiramine (Norpramin), imipramine (Janimine and Trofanil), amitriptyline (Elavil), and nortryptyline (Pamelor) Lithobid and Eskalith are Lithium carbonates that reduce the excessive activity of the brain. Other antimanic medications include carbamazepine (Tegretol), divalproex sodium (Depakote), and lithium citrate (Cibalith-S). All these, of course, are created for the benefit of the patient suffering from manic depression, especially the episodes of depression. However, since they are drugs, the effects may not be as desirable as they have to be; because, there are several patients that experience several side effects in taking these drugs. Side effects could range from hair loss, motor problems, weight gain, headaches, tremor, diarrhea, anxiety, reduced sexual performance or drive, nausea, to dry mouth depending on what type of medication is given. The occurrences of these side effects still depend on each patient. Some can claim that they experience at least one of the mentioned side effects while others can experience two or more. It should be noted that these are unavoidable but if the patient thinks that the medication he or she is taking gives more harm than good, the choice to continue now depends on him or her with the advice of his or her doctor. As a precautionary measure, the patient should consult an expert psychiatrist or a qualified doctor with experience of handling cases of manic depression. Alternatively, ask for other types of treatment that may work more effectively like alternative medicines, psychotherapy, or for the worst cases of manic depression - electroconvulsive therapy. The author of this article, Matthew OConnor runs a site dedicated to the latest news and developments in depression treatments, particularly the crucial topic of medication for manic depression. The South Beach Diet

By Charlene Nuble Among the most popular forms of dieting is the South Beach diet, developed by cardiologist Arthur Agatston of Miami, Florida. The South Beach diet is always confused with Atkins Diet, which is a low-carbohydrate diet. The South Beach diet highlights the consumption of good carbohydrates (high in fiber) and low in glycemic index. The South Beach diet was developed for patients with heart problems to lose weight without risking ketosis. The weight loss was a side effect which turned out to be beneficial and this encouraged many people to try South Beach diet. According to the South Beach diet theory, highly processed carbohydrates are quickly digested which makes insulin level to shoot up. Once the carbohydrates are all used up, your high insulin level makes you crave more for carb-filled foods. The South Beach diet is based on the observation that Americans are carb crazy, which is also the reason for the induction phase. In the first two weeks, dieters attempt to eliminate bad carb such as grains or fruits. After this phase, grain-based foods and fruits are returned to the diet with the concentration on foods with low glycemic index. The South Beach diet also emphasizes the difference between good and bad carbohydrates, and good and bad fats. Good carbohydrates have low glycemic index which means that they are slowly digested and absorbed. The South Beach diet bans unhealthy fats such as saturated fat. Finally, the South Beach diet stresses a permanent change in ones way of eating. The South Beach diet suggests whole grains along with large amounts of vegetables, with sufficient amounts of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, plus Omega-3 oils. The South Beach diet discourages eating of overly refined foods such as flour and sugar. According to experts, the South Beach diet met the criteria of healthy diet which is a good thing. The bad thing is the induction phase wherein dieters lose weight due to loss of water. Losing a large amount of water can disturb ones electrolyte so if youre following the South Beach diet, it would be better if you work closely with a doctor. According to Dr. Agatston, South Beach diet is neither a low carb nor low fat diet but the restrictions placed in the induction phase cut big time the carbohydrate and fat intake of dieters. The good thing about the South Beach diet is that it teaches people on the right foods to eat to cut the risk of heart problems and high cholesterol as well as help them lose weight. The South Beach diet is a long, tedious journey towards perhaps a drop dead gorgeous body. But more than phases of losing weight, the South Beach diet is a way of life. Electronic Billing Clearing House - How to Choose the Right One For Your Needs

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michele_Redmond] Michele Redmond How do you go about finding the right electronic billing clearing house for you? It is fairly easy to find the right one when you know what to look for. You need to get a little information together before you start comparing benefits. If you get your information together before you start, youll find it a lot quicker to find the electronic billing clearing house that is right for you. Remember, not all insurances can be submitted electronically. Medical claims processing is changing with emerging technology, but not everyone is on board yet. We suggest that you check at least 2 - 3 different companies the more the better. Over time, the difference in cost can be substantial. Youll need to know: Which insurance companies are the most important to you to send electronically? Or another way to ask it is which insurance companies are the biggest for your area? Usually Medicare is a big one, followed closely by Blue Cross Blue Shield. Choose the ones that you send the most claims for and which companies are mandating electronic submissions.
How many claims do you send in a week or a month that are capable of going electronically? Once you know what insurance companies you want to submit electronically and about how many claims you submit you are ready to start comparing the options. Now you want to know:
Is this electronic billing clearing house capable of submitting electronically to the insurance companies I want? They will have a list available to you of all of the companies that they are currently set up with for electronic transmission. Check their list to make sure your big companies are on it. If there are one or two that are not on it, but most are, make sure you check to see how often the list is updated. You may want to check with a representative from the Clearing House to see if that company has been recently added, or if they are in the testing process, which means they will be on the list soon. How much do they charge? Is it a per claim fee? Is there a monthly minimum? How much if they drop the claim to paper? Do they have a set up fee? Do they offer support with their service, or is there an extra charge?
Some of the ones you check on may not be equipped to submit electronically to all the companies that are important to you. Youll need to decide how important the company is, or find out if they will be adding them soon. The prices will vary between clearing houses. But you will want to compare all aspects, not just the price. Be careful when choosing the one that is right for you, but don't be afraid to change if somewhere down the road it doesn't work out. We started out with a Electronic Billing Clearing House that we thought was good, and it turned out to be run by a couple people in their garage! We had to switch and we had to switch quick. Thankfully, we didn't have much money tied up with the first one. The second one we used worked great, until they got bought out by a bigger company. Then we switched to software that allowed us to act as our own electronic billing clearing house. That worked well for several years, but another buyout later and we were searching again. We have bought yet another program to do it ourselves and it's working great. This may seem like a lot of switching around but considering it was over a 14 year period, it really isn't. My point is, if something isn't working, find something that does! Michele Redmond is co-owner of Solutions Medical Billing along with her mother, Alice Scott. How To Catch More Fish

By Trevor Kugler That's what many anglers want to do, right? Catch more fish? Of course. And one of the best ways to catch more fish is by learning more. The more tips and techniques you can learn the better. You never know when one of them might come in handy. Here's are a few of the best that I've learned in my past 20 years of angling : Use Gang Hooks - One of the best things that can be done to help you catch more fish is to begin using gang hooks rather than 1 single hook for any of your bait fishing, especially with live worms. Gang hooks are the best way to present a live worm. They work very well for Powerbait as well. Powerbait floats, and when rigged with a set of gang hooks that means that you'll have 2 pieces of Powerbait floating off the bottom the next time that you're still fishing, thus doubling your chances of hooking up! Clean Your Hands - Most fish have a very sensitive sense of smell. So if your hands are smelly (have bug spray on them for example) the fish can smell this. And if the fish smell something that doesn't seem right, that means no bites for you. A fish isn't going to bite an offering that smells like an ashtray (which is the way your hands smell, if you smoke). Simply rubbing your hands in a handful of grass or dirt will help eliminate any foreign smells that might be on your hands. Use The Weather - Use the weather to your advantage. There are some simple aspects of the weather and how it relates to fishing. Learn what they are, and it's an easy way to increase your success. Frontal Systems are a big one. Simply do some research on the weather and fish behavior and it will pay big dividends. Use the Moon - The phases of the moon have quite an impact on fishing. Certain phases of the moon mean that the fish will be much more active. Find out not only what these phases are, but when they occur each month. This way you can concentrate your fishing efforts when the fish are most active. Doesn't this make sense? Maximize Your Time - We all have a finite amount of time to spend fishing. This means that the time we do spend fishing needs to be maximized. Having your fishing gear organized before you actually go fishing is a big one. That way your not spending fishing time searching for things. Employing a gadget such as a bait bag will help you maximize your time. With a bait bag, you've got your bait ready to go, rather than fumbling around with containers and such. Begin using any or all of these tips and you will catch more fish; it's as simple as that. Many times adding one little tip to your repertoire can make all the difference. Remember, 10% of the fishermen catch 90% of the fish. Each little tip and technique that you learn will put you closer to being in that top 10% group, which is where all angler want to be. Trevor Kugler is co-founder of JRWfishing.com and an avid angler. He has more than 20 years experience fishing for all types of fish, and 15 years of business and internet experience. If you have decided that you would like to have orchid wedding bouquets, there are several things that you should know. First of all, they are beautiful. Orchid wedding bouquets are among the most popular flowers to use in weddings because of the beauty that comes from orchids. 1# However, there are other things that you should know about Orchid bridal bouquets. You should know that they are going to be expensive, because there is a lot of care that has to go into raising the plants, and therefore they arent something that can be found cheap. However, if this doesnt matter to you, you should go ahead and use them. 2# Another important thing that you should realize when it comes to Orchid wedding bouquets is that you need to think about the temperature of the wedding. If you are going to have a wedding that might take place in an extreme temperature, you have to take care so that the Orchid bridal bouquets dont wilt or freeze. Also, if you need to have the plants shipped to you, you should know that depending on what temperature you are located in, it might be difficult. Good Outweighs Work Even though it might be pricey and difficult to get the flowers to you for your Orchid wedding bouquets, it is going to be worth it in the long run. Winter Resistant Plants and Shrubs

By Ted Roberson For those landscapers living in a Northern climate, it is essential to consider hardy winter resistant plants and shrubs. The reason behind this is not only so they can continue adding to the beauty of your winter landscape, but also so they will persevere through the winter season and add texture and color in the early spring months. While many Northern climate zones can enjoy a beautiful array of trees like Birch, Maple, Oak, and Dogwood, many homeowners would also like their landscape plants and shrubs to remain beautiful even as the snow falls. With this in mind there are a variety of beautiful winter resistant plants and shrubs that can easily be added to the landscape any time of year. Longstalk Holly This winter resistant element can be either a large shrub or tree, depending on the type of product selected at the landscaping company or store. Although it is called a holly the leaves are a beautiful evergreen that look more like mountain laurel than holly. One of the best reasons for selecting the Longstalk Holly is that it not only does well as a winter resistant shrub but it is also extremely heat resistant, making it excellent for climate zones that will warm up in the summer months. The trees will don a beautiful fruit throughout different seasons but especially in the winter, making this an excellent choice to spruce up your winter landscape. Bayberry If you are looking for a winter resistant shrub with fruit that wont attract the deer throughout the seasons, the Bayberry shrub is an excellent choice. For those homeowners who enjoy birds munching in the spring, summer and fall months, the wonderful part about the Bayberry shrub is that while the deer stay away, the birds love the fruit on this winter resistant plant. The Bayberry shrub also does well in warm weather and can be planted in shade or full sunshine without being disturbed. Evergreen Holly Holly is popular as a Christmas decoration because holly is one of the best available as far as winter resistant plants and shrubs go. Evergreen holly is also one of the most popular winter resistant plants because it also dons beautiful bright berries and elegant, evergreen colored foliage. Although many homeowners believe the Evergreen holly is excellent in all cold climate zones, it really does not do that well in extremely cold climate zones. Acacia While both Prostrate Acacia and Acacia Redolens fall under the category of excellent winter resistant plants and shrubs, they also fall under the category of excellent drought and heat resistant plants and shrubs. Although there are no blooms on the majority of acacias, they do provide beautiful green foliage in the winter months and will be a wonderful addition to any winter landscape. Cranberry Bush Although the Cranberry bush is considered a shrub, it is a small shrub that can easily be mistaken as a plant and can be placed nearly anywhere in the garden to add color and flair. The Cranberry bush really is excellent for almost any season, but does well as a winter resistant plant. It produces large quantities of red berries in the wintertime, which add beauty to the winter landscape and feed the birds as well. In the early to middle summer months, the Cranberry bush will produce beautiful little white flowers and in the late summer there will also be red berries. The Cranberry bush foliage also turns a deep reddish purple, so is a plant that offers something for every seasons landscape. Market Research: Change What You Currently Do

By Tom Dougherty A sovereigns first duty is doubtless to conform with the wishes of the people; but what the people say is scarcely ever what they wish: their desires and their wants cannot be learned from their own mouths so well as they are to be read in the heart of their prince. -Napoleon Bonaparte At Stealing Share, we insist on conducting primary research for our clients because
we understand the brand value of the nuances within the market place when
developing brand strategies. We have yet to encounter a client with existing
research worth the paper upon which it is printed. Research, as currently practiced,
is stagnant, describing the market as it currently is, finding solutions and ideas that
are already currently known. In turn, profitable revelations rendered from current
research processes are few and far between. Failure resides not in the methodology,
but in the process leading to the research study. When research studies depend solely upon the focus group process, failure is
imminent. Marketers use focus groups as means to cover their butts in case of the
unexpected negative result. Focus groups are comparable to hand towels with
regard to coverage, functional after dinner, but utterly futile after a long shower.
Research should prove projectable, and focus groups most certainly are not. Neither
positive response nor negative response from focus groups is reliable. Within one
focus group, there will be a wide spectrum of responses ranging from positive to
negative and everything in between. Many ideas are hailed because the focus group approves of them or disregards
them immediately, because the group gave it a thumbs down. Napoleon concludes,
Nothing is more difficult, and therefore more precious, than to be able to decide.
With focus groups, a scapegoat is produced and marketers feel a false sense of
security when in reality, rock, paper, scissors would be equally effective. Qualitative data via one-on-one studies is the most beneficial acquisition and even
that data should only be utilized as preliminary direction for the quantitative
research. Quantitative data is the main course and yet rarely makes it out of the
oven and onto the table. We conduct this research about a third of the way through
the project. Preceding work, which considers the consumer above all else, indicates
the effectiveness and value of the research immediately following. Beliefs direct human behavior, and we insist on the completion of behavior
modeling before conducting any research. The modeling projects preceptive beliefs
that affect brand purchases, trial, and loyalty. Only after we recognize these
possibilities do we embark upon the research questionnaire. We look to discover
what can be or should be in addition to what IS. Most research acts as a snapshot
of the existing market when the real value of research lies in the testing of
possibilities. A few basic precepts we use when organizing research are: 1) Dont
ask questions to which you know the answer. 2) Before you ask a question, ask
yourself what you can achieve from the answer. If it is not actionable, do not bother
asking. 3) When you test the value of precepts, test the level of importance (i.e.
using a 1-5 scale). 4) Never conduct research until after you establish direction and
strategy. Test these plans. For example, one client conducted research for years with studies asking the
customer what they considered important and why they considered it important.
They also tested the standard awareness issues that have become quite
commonplace. The customer responded unaided, to open-ended questions. Safety,
convenience and price were important factors. Consequently, the brand and
marketing strategy was built around these obvious concepts. The problem arose in
that these are consistent category descriptors, and no one, regardless of the brand,
accepts a product into their considered set if it is not perceived to be safe,
convenient, and properly priced. Our behavior modeling in this case proposed that ownership and familiarity with the
purchase process were both crucial barriers to overcome. Addressing the deficit of
"ownership" in the marketing directly increased sales, thus growing market share.
The study demonstrates the importance of using research to test ideas rather than
to direct them. The concept of ownership seemed silly to the customer, and even
though it affected behavior, he did not admit it until asked. Ownership had NEVER
appeared in previous studies. When looking to build a brand that steals market share and changes behavior it is
imperative to challenge everything and observe the problem dispassionately.
Research is a crucial element of the brand development model, and yet most of the
existing research is worthless and tainted with bias before it even has a chance to
use its legs. Great research is revealing, connecting the brand to significant
consumer beliefs. This connection, however, does not happen by chance. It requires
understanding consumer beliefs and testing them. In other words, A marketers
first duty is doubtless to conform with the wishes of the customer; but what the
customers say is scarcely ever what they wish: their desires and their wants cannot
be learned from their own mouths so well as they are to be read in the heart of the
strategist. Tom Dougherty

and Northern Africa. After his time overseas, Tom returned to the US where

Top 10 Tips for Career Advancement

By Bonnie Lowe Here's a list of the top 10 tips you can use to advance your career:
1. Don't be afraid to say "I don't know." If you don't know something, say so; don't try to fake it.
2. Take responsibility for your actions. If you're at fault, admit it and take the blame. If you're wrong, apologize.
3. Never gossip. Gossip can hurt the careers of two people: the person being talked about, and the person doing the talking.
4. Never say "That's not my job." Don't think you are above anything. Pitch in and set a good example, especially if the job is one that nobody else wants to do. Your willingness to do so will be noticed and appreciated!
5. Share the credit. People who share credit with others make a much better impression than those who take all the credit themselves.
6. Ask for help when you need it. Don't let a difficult task get out of hand. When you need help, ask for it -- before things get worse.
7. Keep your dislike to yourself. If you don't like someone, don't let it show. Never burn bridges or offend others as you move ahead in your career.
8. Don't hold grudges. Life isn't always fair. If you were passed over for promotion, didn't get the project you wanted, etc., let it go. Be gracious and diplomatic, focus on the future and move on. Harboring grudges won't advance your career.
9. Be humble. When you're right, don't gloat about it. Never say "I told you so!"
10. Make others feel important. Compliment others, emphasize their strengths and contributions, and help them whenever you can. They will enthusiasitcally help you in return. Chinese Cuisine

By Michael Russell In the West we tend to talk about Chinese cooking as a generalization, as though it were the same throughout China. In fact, China is a vast country, with a range of topography and climates that produce distinct regional differences. The availability of ingredients varies from region to region and as the Chinese use fresh ingredients in the majority of their cooking, dishes are influenced by availability. One of the most important features of Chinese cooking is texture. Vegetables should remain crisp and rice and noodles should be treated like pasta and retain their 'bite' after cooking. Ingredients such as bean and curd are used for texture, even though they have little flavor in themselves. Bamboo shoots, a common ingredient, are included purely for texture. Although the Chinese make use of regional, fresh foods, they also use dried stuffs in their recipes, in particular mushrooms, bean curd, noodles and spices. These were first used to preserve foods, but are now widely used. In Beijing, the cold northerly climate strongly affects the cuisine. There is quite a variety in this region that has inherited influences from the Mandarin courts and there was also some Manchurian and Mongolian input. Wheat is more popular than rice and many noodle, pancake and dumpling recipes originate from this area. They also glaze, barbecue and spit roast many of their meats. Sauces are robust and rich, using many spices, soy sauce and garlic. Lamb is the most popular meat in this area as a result of the Mongolian influence. Cantonese cooking in the south is entirely different. Here, stir-frying produces rich, inventive and colorful food. Traders and travelers have influenced the cuisine and the subtropical climate, perfect for fruit growing, has meant that many savory dishes include fruit, as well as fish and seafood. Very little meat is eaten in the South, although they are famed for their 'red' cooking, whereby foods are braised in soy sauce to give a red color. Soy is used extensively here in the thick sauces that are characteristic and rice is always included. In the East, more starch is eaten and considerably more fat is used. Rice is served as an accompaniment or for stuffings. Rice wine is produced and used in abundance, perfectly complimenting the range of fish and seafood caught along the coastline. The people of Shanghai have a sweet tooth and savory dishes are much sweeter from this region. Szechuan cooking from the West is hearty and spicy. They use many chilies and spices, producing hot-and-sour, piquant flavors. Pickles and other preserves feature in the regional cooking and the foods are traditionally drier, but combine many flavors. Sauces are kept to a minimum, even in stir-fries. When cooking the Chinese tend to combine a couple of cooking methods in one dish, such as steaming and then frying, or frying and roasting. Steaming is widely used in Chinese cooking. Traditionally bamboo steamers are used, so that a whole meal may be cooked in a stack of bamboo racks. Stir-frying is done in a wok that must be heated before use. Foods of a similar size (all small) are stirred constantly, so that as they come into contact with the wok, they cook quickly. Deep-frying is also done in the wok, which uses less oil than a deep fryer. The foods are often marinated first or coated in a light batter. Michael Russell

How Can You Tell If You Are Being Deceived?

By Lawrence Andrews Since the advent of the Internet, online dating seems to be the next generation of falling in love and getting married. With online dating, it seems that no one needs to be alone anymore. Everybody is bound to find the right man or woman through the help of online dating services. Best of all, online dating provides additional services that no other services can provide; and, because of the many interactive features that most online dating sites give, more and more people are being enticed to try it out. One of the greatest advantages of online dating is that it gives the person anonymity. Since, other people are not fully aware of how an individual looks and what kind of person they are dealing with; anonymity becomes a powerful tool in the process of interaction with other people. With anonymity, most people are able to say what they usually cannot disclose if done personally. In addition, most people have a lot of time analyzing their dates first before they decide to meet them in person. In this way, they get to know who the person is, his or her personality, or what does he or she looks like even if it is only through pictures. However, anonymity can also be too powerful that some people use this as one way of gaining the other persons attention through deceptions and lies. Therefore, for people who wish to know how to identify if the other person they are dating online is not telling the truth or is deceiving them, here are some ways to detect such unscrupulous activity. 1. People who are into online dating should be wary of those who exaggerate or evade things that are too obvious not to notice. This only means that the other person is trying to hide something. People who do these kinds of things can be very deceiving especially if the other person cannot easily detect the symptoms of lying. Moreover, people who usually exaggerate may suggest that he or she is trying to cover something that is why they make an effort to change the topic at once. 2. Inconsistency There are instances that some people usually tell stories of different varieties during a date online. Throughout the course of the activity, there are those who would keep on yakking about certain things and when they are asked to tell the same story all over again the next time the couples meet online, some discrepancies happen. The facts are no longer consistent with those that were mentioned before. Therefore, these things would only suggest that the person is, indeed, deceiving his or her online date. 3. If the other person does not reveal too much of his or her personal information or anything about him or her, chances are, he or she may be deceiving their online dates. In reality, there is no harm on not revealing anything about certain information. In fact, it is one way of dating safely online. However, there are situations wherein an individual has to know something about his or her date just to gain a little knowledge about the other person. This usually includes basic information like name, age, likes or dislikes, and other light information that could give the concerned person some solid basis of the person. So, for people who do not reveal much about who they are, it means that they are hiding something. 4. Intuitions It may be too vague or too amusing to believe on intuitions. Nevertheless, there are many cases and stories wherein people who rely on their intuitions usually get positive results. Intuitions are things that are known to exist without the support of some rational basis. Hence, if a person feels that his online date is not telling the truth, then, chances are, the person may not be telling the truth after all. Experts say that through intuitions, the individuals subconscious thought can identify inconsistencies that are not easily noticed. This can be very helpful especially when somebody is skilled enough to be consistent on his or her lies for a long time. 5. It would be better for some people to ask their online date to have a chat using a web cam. In this way, they will both each others looks, personalities, and other things that can only be verifiable through web cams. Here, an individual can detect a person who is trying to deceive him or her when he or she does not want to use a web cam or if there are just too many excuses. The bottom line is that, if the other person has nothing to lie about, then, everything must be kept simple and straightforward. There should be no beating around the bush while answering some questions. In reality, online dating that is free from any deceptions should be simple and based on truth, no more, no less. Shimpaku Juniper Also Known As The Smoke Of The Volcano Is Extremely Popular With Bonsai Artists

By Tim Gorman The Shimpaku Juniper was discovered in Japan just over a century ago. The Shimpaku Juniper is known as the "smoke of the volcano" because of its beautifully patterned swirling trunk. Unfortunately, largely due to its popularity as a bonsai, this juniper is now all but extinct in its natural state and is very difficult to find growing wild anywhere. The Shimpaku Juniper maxes out at two to three feet high and greatly resembles a bush. Its first foliage is needle-like, but as it matures its foliage becomes like soft scales. The Shimpaku Juniper is not too temperamental -- it thrives in sunshine, but is happy in the shade and can endure fluctuating extremes in temperature. Furthermore, the Shimpaku Juniper needs rocky and well-drained soil and a good misting every day during the growing season. Branching can be increased by pinching new growth and the Shimpaku Juniper should be pruned throughout the year. During the growing season, all unwanted branches should be removed and roots should be gradually pruned, removing less than a third of the roots at a time. The best time to wire is in the early winter, when the Shimpaku Juniper tree is dormant and its branches can get used to new positions. Wiring old, brittle wood is not a good idea, but new growth easily accommodates the wiring. Take care to never allow the wire to pierce the bark of a Shimpaku Juniper tree. A new Shimpaku Juniper tree should be re-potted every other year until it reaches 10 years old. After that, re-potting every three or four years is sufficient. A newly re-potted Shimpaku Juniper tree should be protected from wind and direct sun for two months. Spider mites can be a problem for the Shimpaku Juniper and you will know their presence if your junipers foliage turns yellow. Spraying insecticidal soap can help, or for a more natural repellent, you can use a solution of tobacco soaked overnight in water. Which Marketing Solution is Right for You?

By Jane Hendry If you're running a small business, then at some point you may be faced with the problem that you want to gear up your marketing in order to grow the business, but at the same time you're afraid of getting it wrong and losing whatever you invest in it. Whilst large businesses can afford to throw large amounts of money at campaigns, and absorb the losses if their marketing doesn't work, small businesses need a return on every pound they spend. They need some level of certainty that the money and effort they invest is going to produce good results. Otherwise, what can happen is that they keep doing what they're already doing (which probably isn't working that well), or they blow a load of money on advertising or marketing solutions that don't work, and then lose faith in outside help or marketing altogether. If you want to avoid wasting money on marketing and advertising, or getting burnt by marketing consultants then you'll want to minimise your risks and invest your money in solutions that work for you. As you read this article you'll discover 5 options for learning how to do your own marketing or recruiting outside help, and the advantages and disadvantages of each option. 5 Options for Learning Marketing Skills or Getting Help with Marketing 1) Learn how to do it yourself through reading books, attending workshops, using audio programmes etc. The obvious advantage of this is that it's the cheapest option, plus as you learn to do things for yourself, you retain control of your marketing programme. However, the major drawbacks are that the learning curve is very steep and it may take a long time to learn what works, plus you may end up learning a lot of generic information that doesn't directly apply to your business or that doesn't give you an actual step by step plan. You may learn what to do, but not how to do it or the exact steps you need to take to implement what you've learnt. 2) Use a marketing consultant/agency The advantage of this is that you effectively hand over the problem to someone else who deals with it on your behalf, leaving you to get on with what you do best. The disadvantages of this option are that you don't learn what works for your business and you are no longer fully in control of your marketing function - so you won't know why some things work and others don't. Also, this is probably the most expensive option, and some marketing consultants have got a tendency to prescribe their pet solution, before even diagnosing the actual problem and the situation. Not only that, but if your problem is, for example, lack of sales, and you decide the solution is PR, and then hire a PR consultant, they will work to your brief. In other words, you've diagnosed the problem and precribed the solution. However, PR may not be the best solution to your problem, and a proper analysis of your target market and your current activities, budget and opportunities is required before forming the conclusion that a PR consultant is the answer. 3) Group coaching/training programmes The advantage of this is the lower cost plus regular classes and fieldwork that keep you on track. Some people will benefit from working in a group, especially as they learn from the experiences of others, and particularly if there is a "buddying" system in place. The disadvantage is the lack of personal coaching/consulting or significant input from the expert in examining your particular situation. Not only that, but you'll be going at a pace as dictated by the course outline, when you might want to move considerably faster or even slower. Also, most programmes go through a range of strategies as decided by the programme creator, some (or many) of which are not applicable to your particular situation. This is especially true if the programme is designed for the generic "small business" - what works for a dry cleaning business may not work for a consultant, coach or professional. The result is that you may be learning 10 or 12 strategies at a rather superficial level, rather than homing in on the 2 or 3 strategies that are really going to deliver results into your business, and which are manageable. 4) One to one business/marketing coaching The advantage of this is the personal attention, and the ability to address your specific issues. This works out a little more expensive than a group training programme, but less expensive than hiring a consultant. How this works varies widely and a lot depends on whether the coach is using a coaching model (i.e. they guide you in working out your own solutions) or a marketing model (they take on a role more similar to a consultant than a coach, and tell you what will work for your situation). Most do not seem to offer any structure, specific outcomes, or programme of activities so it can be hard to tell what you're getting for your money. 5) A Structured Programme of consulting, training and mentoring delivered one to one In this scenario the consultant uses a structured series of exercises to analyse the client's situation, help them build their marketing foundation, overcome problems and obstacles standing in their way and works with them to create a series of marketing actions that will work best for them. This typically costs about the same as marketing coaching, but has more tangible outcomes and the consultant will also be doing things on the client's behalf in between sessions. The advantages are that the client is fully in control of their own situation and is being guided and taught how to do things for themselves. The consultant will also use their expertise to steer the client towards solutions that will work for their situation, their market and their type of business, and filter out approaches that are irrelevant or less likely to produce good results. The disadvantages are that you still have to do the work yourself (unless you pay for help with implementation), and if the consultant is helping you to craft your message and build your foundation, then there may be a delay before any strategies get fully implemented. This is really the approach that is analogous to building your house on rock rather than on sand - it takes a little longer to lay the foundations, but it's a sturdier, stronger solution in the end. 2006 Jane Hendry, Attractioneering Jane Hendry helps professionals, consultants and coaches to create marketing systems that easily and consistently attract their ideal clients. Lawn Care Business Owners - Don't Buy Yourself A Job

By Kevin Whiteside Most businesses consist of the owner only or the owner and a few employees. The owner continues to do the same activity whether it is labor or crew management for many years. He gets into the"comfort zone" or "rut" and does the same thing day in and day out. You need to put your time and energies into growing your lawn business or landscape business. This needs to be directed toward advertising, marketing, or other services. Good employees are needed to run the daily activities of a lawn business. The things you are doing now.Filling your labor or management position is crucial for your continued growth. Some people tell me that it's tough or scary to let the employees run a large part of the business. Yes, it may be uncomfortable but you need to ask yourself "Do I want to be doing the same activity in my business 5, 10, or 15 years from now?" If you do that's fine. So what we have are 2 choices 1. Do the same activity in your business years from now that you are doing today 2. Put some major responsibility on the eployees and GROW your business. Number 2 is not easy and can be difficult and stressful. You have to, have to, have to think about the FUTURE and the end result. Your business should not become dependent on you. Additionally, I've seen many employees actually do a better job in the position the owner gave up than the owner. The owner should spend time 1) Advertising 2) Marketing 3) Making the business more profitable 4) Building relationships w/ customers 5) Internet and website6) Adding additional services Write a plan and clear objective of how to make a successful lawnbusiness run without you. Don't just turn your employees lose and say go get em.Make sure they all know their job. Everything will work much smoother thisway. Give employees titles and certain responsibilities, and hold them accountable. Titles can make employees feel wanted and appreciated. When they do something good, acknowledge it and praise them. If they screw up, introduce them to a better way to avoid the problem the next time. Encourage them to ask questions.Tell them there are no stupid questions just stupid mistakes. You must listen to their needs not just hear what they are saying. Ask them occasionally, "Do you see any areas that can be improved upon or do you have any suggestions to make the business run smoother?" Ask them about the chemistry of the crew such as "Is there someone here slowing the crew down or is a disruption to the performance?" We talked about the comfort zone earlier. I want to share with a short story.. There was a native tribe in South America who had been dying prematurely from a strange sickness for many generations.Scientists were sent in to find out the cause of the strange disease. It was finally discovered that the disease was caused by the bite of an insect, which lives in the walls of their homes. The natives had several options: (a) They can destroy the insects with insecticides (b) They can destroy and rebuild their homes (c) They can move to another location where there are no such insects (d) They can continue to live at the same place and die early, as they had been doing for generations. The saddest thing is that they chose to remain as they were and died early. THE POINT IS- It is sad that most people have fear and don't like change. They are comfortable with what they are, where they are, and they would rather die than change. The comfort zone is a dangerous place to be in, and you may not even realize that you are in it. You have all this money invested in equipment and if you are doing the same activity in the business that you really aren't happy doing, you have actually "Bought Yourself a Job." Please don't make that mistake. Best of Luck! By Peter Emerson Las Vegas is a city that has been handled the title of "the wedding capital of the world." There are over 100,000 couples that get married every year in Las Vegas or head to the city for renewing their wedding vows. This title has a lot to do with the wedding chapels. 11 Rock Solid Techniques For Generating Product Ideas Anytime Anywhere!

By Oluwafisayo Akinlolu Whatever business you are in, either online or offline,
you've got to constantly generate business/product ideas. If you've ever wondered how on earth those big corporations
and companies generate wonderful and irresistible products
plus powerful and revolutionary ideas, here are the 11
basic principle behind it all and the greatest of news is
that it can be applied to any business. 1. Pick up an existing product, add additional benefits and
offer it at the old price or at a cheaper price. 2. Strip an existing product to the basics and offer the
real substance at a basic price. Here is a very good
illustration. Thousands of great and free email services
exist on the web with great features but the truth is this;
only a fraction of the users really use all the additional
features and believe me, a lot get confused because it
seems so complicated. Strip off all the "niceties" and offer a simple straight
forward and easy to use email. See what I mean? 3. Add speed of delivery to a basic product or service.
This is the number one reason why the Internet is such a
big "boom". Speed. Incorporate it in your new product. 4. Enhance design and packaging of a basic product. 5. Design an existing product to increase speed and reduce
stress. This is the one great reason why all those things
with the tag "instant" sell like crazy and it is the reason
why you have a microwave oven in your house! 6. Generalise a hoarded technology or idea. As an instance,

Healthy Feng Shui - Energy Healing and the Mind/Body Connection

By Carole Provenzale I am called to clients homes for a Feng Shui Consultation for many different reasons. Sometimes they just feel a little stuck, often they know on some level they need changes and arent quite sure what to do. I am very often called to new homes to bless them, clear them of predecessor energy and get the new occupants off to the best possible start in their new surroundings. Other times, still, it is just a deep curiosity of reading and hearing about Feng Shui that gives them an interest in looking at their space through what we like to call Feng Shui Eyes. Most recently I have noticed a different pattern; I am often called these days because of health issues and traditional medications and doctor recommendations have either not helped or have been so invasive they have chosen a different perspective for their healings and are looking into alternative medicine. While I am not an Energy Healer, I do work with a few as my background includes working for a long period of time in Wholistic Health. It was during this time that I truly began to see the connection of our essence, our very energy in connection to the healings that I witnessed quite often. During my studies then and my continuing studies of the Energy we are surrounded with, I am convinced we call into our life many of the dis-eases in our bodies; we actually create them for one reason or another. For some of us, our daily lives become overwhelming, yet we feel too stuck or afraid to make some dramatic changes. Some people experience bouts of depression and find the medications unhelpful or simply dont wish to take them due to their possible side effects. While I never advocate not following doctors orders I can often give them a different view and perspective into why they have gotten ill and recommend some people that I myself have worked with and have helped me when I was quite ill myself. With more and more studies being done and the wonderful work of Dr. Wayne Dyer and others like him, we are becoming more receptive to less invasive and powerful cures that years ago were not even thought of. The places to go today for Energy Healing are composed of Intent and our own Empowerment. If you believe as I do that energy surrounds us all and we are affected by it, positively or negatively, then it would make perfect sense that it will have a profound effect on our health. Our own surroundings can comfort, support and promote transformations according to Feng Shui Principles and the mind is the most powerful tool in the Universe for healing. Having experienced a healing myself (and feeling better then ever!), I can personally recommend an energetic form of healing by different modalities with committed and qualified people, also often used in conjunction with traditional medicines. My continuing studies in this modality combined with my own experiences lead me to write this article; if something feels not quite right to you with a doctor, treatment or prognosis or you wish to use Energy Healing in conjunction with your treatments, seek someone qualified to help you on the subject and send you to the proper people for enhanced benefits. Transformations do occur, in our homes, our health and our lives if were open to receiving them. Back to Business

By Ginger Marks It is that time of year again. The kids are getting back to school and it is time to pump it up a notch with our businesses. What is your idea of getting off the starting block? I was thinking about that the other day and thought that this might be a good place to begin my search. Some of the things that come to mind are:
1. Advertising
2. Promotion
3. Sales
4. Events
5. Networking
6. Charity All of these means it seems are just simply the tip of a mountain of ideas. Let's take the first one for example, advertising. You have online and offline. Then you have to consider what form of online or offline advertising suits you and your clients best. The worst thing you can do is throw good money in the wrong direction. You need to decide first who your target market is and what motivates them to buy. That is a topic for another conversation though. Promotion sort of flows out of the advertising river into a whole new income stream of its own. If you want to promote your business you must first decide whether you want to do it in print or live interaction. Promotion can be done with article writing or simple advertising or sales flyers. You should consider joining a group like the one I ran into recently that stuffs their product packages with your promotional pieces. What a neat concept that is. You produce the promotional piece and they put it in the box with the item they are mailing out to their customers. It can be a business card, brochure or even a promotional or sale flyer. Print up 500 pieces and send it to the member that is requesting them and they insert it into their mailings. I would be happy to share this resource with you if you are interested. How about those of us who enjoy the live interaction of an audience? There are multitudes of opportunities to promote your product or service doing seminars and chats. Just days ago I finished writing a book titled, "Promotional Skills for the Next Generation". I have it for sale in PDF version presently while I am awaiting my ISBN# to be able to sell it through vendors both in digital and print mediums. If you would like a copy just email me and I will be happy to send you your pre-release first edition copy. What about Press Releases? They can be tied into your business promotion in a very powerful way. Consider hiring a professional who can not only pen the perfect press release but get it into the right hands. Don't attempt to do this on your own if you want real results. My PR Queen is Kim Emerson. If you want her assistance you can email me and I will be happy to put you in touch with her. One thing we fall back on often is the use of sales. These can generate interest and sometimes are the catalyst to revenues from those potential customers who are sitting on the proverbial fence. I have recently begun offering coupon book promotion to my clients as this is a WIN, WIN, WIN! for everyone involved. Companies that would otherwise not let the associate promote their business can use these simple, non-threatening advertising options to their advantage. One thing that I have learned from this experience is that when offering a coupon you would do better to offer a dollar amount off rather than a percentage. Why? Well it seems that people don't perceive the value of percentage as quickly as they do an actual dollar amount. As for events my recommendation is GET INVOLVED! If you can find the time get involved in putting them together. Attending is one thing and will garner you some networking time but when you are involved with the planning and promotion not only do you gain valuable experience but personal one-on-one with the movers and the shakers interaction as well. This leads us into the networking environment. As you already know networking is a huge factor in the success or failure of your business. Just do it! Online or off. In person or in the chat room. It really doesn't matter. This is a powerful tool. Use it wisely. Make friends and let the conversation flow naturally into business informational exchange. Don't begin with an ad! This is the quickest way to turn the other members off. Have you considered aligning with a charity? This is something that can be beneficial to others while being a promotional tool for you at the same time. Take this opportunity to use the press release to promote your business. During the holidays is a perfect time to make these associations. Whatever your comfort level is, the key is to get off the bench and begin taking the actions to allow your business to grow and flourish. Set a goal, reach for the stars! If you end up in the clouds you have gained at the very least experience. Copyright 2006 Ginger Marks Ginger Marks is the founder of DocUmeant, Your writing & design assistant. Proudly Display Your Veterans Flag

By Bill Shayler I sadly remember the day we buried my father. An American flag covered the coffin before being transported to the cemetery. There it remained during the service. At the end of the service my brother-in-law and I tried our best to remember our own military training while we folded dad's burial flag into a neat triangle and took it home. Each day similar scenes are repeated across America. Our country has many veterans who have sacrificed and suffered for their country. The number is now growing rapidly. The burial flag represents a period of great sacrifice during the life of one American. In the case of my father who was stationed on the USS Curtiss in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1942 he was also present aboard the USS Piedmont in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945 the day the treaty ending the war with Japan was signed. Most of what happened between these events was never talked about. He held the horror and devastation of this period of his life to himself. I never really understood how he felt until my own service time during the Viet Nam war. It seems I do not like to talk about that time period either. Perhaps the feeling of sacrifice has again surfaced with my son, a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps now serving in Baghdad while his wife and daughters wait and hope here at home. Before his departure my son and I traveled to Washington DC where he and I stood together in the beautiful new World War II Veterans Memorial, we walked the Viet Nam Wall and through the Korean War Veterans Memorial. Our national memorials in Washington DC have a direct tie to each of the veterans flags in our homes. Each represents the individuals who have given of themselves for the freedom we enjoy in America. Your veteran's flag should not be placed in a drawer or closet and forgotten. Display or even fly your veterans flag for all to see. Tell people about this person who gave so much. Cherish your flag as you did the loved one who earned it. My father's flag is proudly displayed in a case made for the display of burial flags in our home. We have an engraved plate attached with a remembrance of him so our grand children can remember him with the pride we all do, as a family and as Americans. Hydroponic Supplies You Need for a Productive Garden

By Tony Buel Those who are new to hydroponic gardening often overbuy on supplies that they possibly may not need when first starting out. After all, the very basic hydroponic supplies that you need when starting out can readily be found in and around your home! Use these first before expanding to the more expensive hydroponic supplies. Beginning tables for your plants can include items as simple as plastic tubs and a child's swimming pool! You may wish to purchase a kit called a 'plug and go' hydroponic gardening kit. These kits will include everything you need - nutrient solution, plant cubes, heating pad, and seeds. The only additional items that you need to add are sun and water. As a hydroponic gardener you will need a dedicated space for your gardening. An easy to install 'grow room' is preferred for the beginner. This can usually be completely installed in less than an hour and the price can range from $250 to over $500 depending on the features. A small greenhouse can be considerably be more expensive. Depending on the features, the cost of a greenhouse will range from $500 to a few thousand dollars. A greenhouse will typically need a cement floor and drainage system, or some other kind of flooring such as gravel. A temperature control unit will be necessary depending on how many plants you will be growing in your grow room or greenhouse. Usually the more plants you have the hotter your greenhouse will be. The temperature control unit will turn the fans or blowers on. It can also be set up to open and close the air ducts. Hydroponic gardeners also use a special type of lighting - blue and green spectrum lights. These are instrumental in increasing plant growth. As you become more skilled at hydroponic gardening you can will upgrade to a more advanced irrigation and drainage system. The plant types and quantities that you are growing will determine what other equipment you will need. The typical hydroponic supplies that you will be purchasing over time are a temperature control unit, light fixtures for your blue and red spectrum lights, heating mats, exhaust fan, an aeration system and other incidentals. Beginners will find all of their hydroponic supplies at a hydro shop. They specialize in selling hydroponic gardening supplies and are very helpful in giving useful and practical advice. You will also find the fellow gardeners to be more than willing to help. Author of Hydroponic Gardening Website: Tony Buel
